The term intelligent transportation system (ITS) refers to efforts to add information and communications technology to transport infrastructure and vehicles in an effort to manage factors that typically are at odds with each other, such as vehicles, loads, and routes to improve safety and reduce vehicle wear, transportation times and fuel consumption.
A broad range of diverse technologies including information processing, communications, control, and electronics, known collectively as ITS, holds the answer to many of our transportation problems. The goal of CS Technologies is to utilize synergistic technologies and systems engineering concepts to develop solutions that will improve transportation systems of all kinds.
