ASHRAEASHRAE
The American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) is an international membership organization establishing standards to provide minimum requirements for the energy-efficient design of buildings.
These standards set minimum requirements for the design and construction of new buildings, new portions of buildings, and new systems and equipment in existing buildings. ASHRAE standards apply to several systems and equipment used in conjunction with buildings including HVAC and lighting.

RoHSRoHS
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), European Union (EU) Directive 202/95/EC, mandates
that effective July 1, 2006, all products sold into the EU must significantly curtail the use of Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Hexavalent Chromium, Polybrominated Biphenyls and Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers. Per the directive, the maximum allowed concentration by weight in homogeneous materials is 0.1 percent for each material, with the exception of Cadmium, which is 0.01 percent.
